The history of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University stretches back to 1804, when Kharkiv Imperial University was established by Emperor Alexander I. In 1835, its department of moral and political sciences was renamed the faculty of law.
In 2013, what had become the National University’s Mudryi Law Academy of Ukraine was renamed Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.
International students are invited to undertake the international-law degree programme, which covers theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. The university has cooperation agreements with universities in the UK, Germany and the US, as well as a range of other countries across the globe.
The university campuses stretch to 67 acres in total, and include 16 dormitories. All classrooms and dormitories provide sports grounds and gyms. There are library, sports, cultural and medical complexes. A Palace of Students “provides conditions for creative and personal development of students and staff”.
