Authors and translators from across the globe last week attended an unusual event at the University of East Anglia. Organised by the British Centre for Literary Translation, the summer school allows translators the opportunity to work closely with the authors of the texts they are translating. Major names in literature including British writer Giles Foden, Uruguayan-born Spanish author Carmen Posadas and Irish poet Paddy Bushe attended. It marked the first time the Irish language appeared in the programme.
