The Times Higher Education China Subject Ratings are the only performance tables that judge Chinese institutions against their global peers based on the Chinese Ministry of Education’s classification of subjects.
The ratings for literature reveal performance in two subjects: foreign language and literature; and media/communications/journalism.
In total, 755 universities worldwide receive a rating for at least one subject in the literature pillar.
Thirty-six universities achieve an A+ grade in both of the literature subjects, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tsinghua University in mainland China.
If you would like to discuss the results of the ratings, contact Sophia Li, THE’s regional director of Greater China, at Sophia.Li@timeshighereducation.com.
