The African School of Economics became a full-fledged pan-African university in 2004 after the expansion of the Institute for Empirical Research in Political Economy. A total of 71 students from 12 different countries are enrolled at the ASE for the academic year 2014-2015. The 12 faculty members all come from top universities from the US, Canada and Europe. The ASE is based in Abomey-Calavi, Cotonou, Benin and offers two graduate programmes at master’s level: mathematics, economics and statistics (MMES) and business administration (MBA). Eventually, it will offer graduate degrees in business administration, public and international affairs, quantitative methods and economics, and development studies, as well as executive degree programmes.
