Habib University is a private university for liberal arts education located in Karachi, Pakistan. It was established in 2014 by the House of Habib.
Habib University offers a wide range of undergraduate programmes through its two schools: The Dhanani School of Science and Engineering (DSSE) and the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (AHSS). The university offers courses across several disciplines like electrical engineering, computer science, social development and policy, communication and design, and comparative humanities.
The university is also known for its innovative liberal arts “Habib Core Curriculum" based on seven "Forms of Thought”, which includes disciplines of sociology, history, philosophy – Western, Eastern and Islamic – and anthropology.
The campus situated has classrooms, laboratories, a comprehensive library, an amphitheatre, art studios, and recreational areas.
The campus architecture is innovative and is one of the few handicapped-accessible campuses in the city. In addition to this, several events, seminar and activities are organised throughout the year.
The university has forged academic and research partnerships with several leading institutions across the world such as Texas A&M University at Qatar, Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley, Pitzer College, and many others.
