Universidad Catolica de Colombia was originally established in 1970 as Fundación Educacional Interamericana Católica de Colombia. In 1993 the National Government granted it university status and it became Universidad Catolica de Colombia.
The university is located in Bogotá, the capital and largest city of Colombia.
The university offers eight undergraduate degree programmes: architecture, psychology, law, civil engineering, industrial engineering, electronic and telecommunications engineering, systems and computers engineering and economics.
There are also five master’s programmes available: engineering and innovation management, human rights and international law, political science, psychology and sustainable design.
The university offers one PhD programme in psychology.
The Office of International and Interinstitutional Affairs was set up by the university to manage relations with other higher education institutions at national and international level. The university has developed partnerships with institutions across the globe in order to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges and student exchange programmes. Students are given the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters at any one of the university’s partner institutions.
