The School of Psychology seeks to appoint a registered, Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor with an endorsement in any area of Psychology to a balanced (teaching and research) role. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in Psychology and demonstrate a developing publication track record in an area of research relevant to one of the School’s main research themes:  health and wellbeing, human cognition and performance, lifespan development, social and cultural dynamics, and education and meta-research. They will teach predominantly in our Masters programs, including oversight of student placements and research project supervision.

The School of Psychology offers students a range of accredited pathways, both on campus and online, to becoming a psychologist. At postgraduate level, the School is unique in South Australia in offering three professional Masters programs leading to registration as a Psychologist (Clinical, Health and Organisational and Human Factors).

The School is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic staff member to contribute to the development of its teaching methods and offerings. The School also wishes to strengthen its research performance and capacity and is especially keen to continue to evolve in translational, interdisciplinary and industry-related research, to attract funding and improve impact.

To be successful you will need: 


	A PhD or equivalent higher academic qualification in Psychology.
	Registration as a Psychologist, and Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical, Health or Organisational Psychology.
	Approved as a Supervisor with AHPRA, or willing to obtain approval.
	Demonstrated skills and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures and workshops as well as marking and assessment activities; and a commitment to excellence in teaching in Psychology with an applied focus.
	Demonstrated experience in innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.

Two fixed-term positions available immediately for one year at the School of Chemical Engineering, with the possibility of an additional 2 years based on performance. 

The Research Fellow will conduct experimental research funded by the Australian Research Council on electrode, catalyst and electrolyte materials for advanced batteries.

Build your research career at the School of Chemical Engineering in a world-class research group led by ARC Laureate Fellow, Professor Zaiping Guo.

We are seeking to appoint two Research Fellows to contribute to develop next-generation battery energy systems to address key challenges nationally and internationally, in addition to providing significant performance, lifetime, and safety improvements of batteries. This project also aims to better understand the working mechanism of applied electrodes, the criteria of electrolyte selection, and their associated interfacial reactions to build up a generalized knowledge for the further deployment in commercialized batteries. It will transform early career researchers into highly skilled professionals in the fields of materials engineering and electrochemistry for energy storage and battery technology. The candidate will be encouraged to use their initiative and develop their own research programme to meet the challenges of the future. He/she is expected to take a leadership role within the team, conducting independent research, supervising research students, and engaging with collaborators.

To be successful you will need:


	A PhD in electrochemistry, nanotechnology, chemistry sciences, material engineering or related applied science.
	Relevant research experience in the development of batteries or CO2 reduction, as evidenced by highly impacted research publications in leading journals and conferences or equivalent industrial experience.
	Considerable knowledge to develop novel materials or electrocatalysts with desired physical and electrochemical properties.
	Experimental expertise in electrochemical characterization, coin and other cells making and testing.
	Proficiency in using advanced analysing techniques, such as XRD, SEM, TEM, NMR, FTIR, Raman, XPS.
	Extensive experience with developing in-situ techniques with XRD, Raman, FTIR, or synchrotron-related diffraction and spectroscopy for monitoring of the dynamic reaction processes in electrodes and at electrode/electrolyte interfaces.
	Excellent reading and written communication skills.
	Potential to lead a research program in fundamental and/or applied areas addressing current battery related industrial challenges.
	Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and collegial manner, and to build rapport with all levels of academic and professional staff within a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Advance cancer diagnosis by analysing immune system responses and treatment efficacy using spatial and single-cell computational immunogenomics.

The position is for a postdoctoral fellow in spatial and single-cell computational immunogenomics for cancer diagnosis. This position will advance cancer diagnosis by analysing immune responses and treatment efficacy through data-driven research and a multi-omic approach. Exploring the dynamics of circulating immune cells in blood reveals crucial insights into the immune system's response, its efficacy against metastatic cancer, and its reaction to treatments. Profiling peripheral blood immune single cells and circulating cytokines, we uncovered patterns of immune cell communication and composition linked to metastatic progression (Mangiola et al. 2024). 

This exciting position aims to expand this research to study the local tumour microenvironment and apply this approach to identify individual immune characteristics influencing immunotherapy success. We aim to employ a multiomic approach, analysing extensive patient data across all stages of disease progression. This research will utilise state-of-the-art facilities, including 10x Xenium, 10x CITE-seq, Milliplex and proteomics.  We are searching for a dynamic individual for the Computational Biologist/Bioinformatician/Biostatistician role. Managing personal research funds is a possibility depending on the appointment level and the candidate's experience.

Key responsibilities: Develop and apply advanced AI large-language models to analyse large-scale single-cell datasets; Contribute to the expansion and refinement of our large-scale single-cell database; and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance the field of precision oncology.

To be successful you will need: 

Explicitly address each selection criteria


	PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a closely related field with a strong focus on machine learning and deep learning applications.
	Demonstrable experience in analysing large-scale single-cell genomic data.
	Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in computational biology and data science, such as Python and R, with the ability to handle complex data analysis tasks. Please provide publicly available examples.
