The British Council’s GREAT Scholarships offer students from 15 countries around the world funding and scholarships to study in the UK.
Successful applicants will receive £10,000 towards their tuition fees for a wide range of one-year taught postgraduate courses.
In the 2025-26 academic year, over 200 scholarships will be awarded across 71 universities in the UK. Participating institutions include the University of Bristol, the University of York, the University of St Andrews, the University of Manchester, the University of Warwick and the University of Birmingham, among others.
Scholarships are offered to students from a wide range of countries, including India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Nigeria and many more around the world.
There are specific entry requirements for each of the different eligible countries and courses, so students will need to check the application requirements for the course they wish to pursue.
Deadlines will also vary depending on the university and course applied for, but many of the deadlines will be around March, April and May 2025 for a course start in September 2025.
The GREAT Scholarship scheme also offers two other scholarships: GREAT Scholarships for justice and law and GREAT scholarships for science and technology. These scholarships are available for students who wish to study a postgraduate programme in the related disciplines.
